Tian Qin  

Tian Qin (秦天) is a Chinese singer, producer and cultural manager based in the Netherlands. Her work spans artistic performance, cultural production and international collaboration, with a particular focus on fostering dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures through music and the performing arts.
As a singer, Tian has performed in China, Korea, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and the United States, appearing in opera productions, festivals, and concerts and performing both classical and contemporary repertoire. Her operatic repertoire includes Cio-Cio San (Madama Butterfly), Mimì (La Bohème), Susanna and the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), and Nedda (Gianni Schicchi).

Born in China, Tian began her professional career as a pop and musical theatre singer after receiving the prestigious Chinese Music Golden Bell Award. She appeared in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Series Performances: International Star Concert before choosing to pursue a career in classical singing. After earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Advertising from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, she continued her vocal studies in the United States.

Tian holds both a Master of Music degree and a Graduate Performance Diploma in Vocal Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She studied with Tibère Raffalli, Sara Goldstein, Katheryn Wright, Gioacchino Gli Vigni and Roberta Alexandra, and participated in masterclasses with Renata Scotto and Nelly Miricioiu.

Alongside her performing career, Tian has produced and managed a range of international cultural projects that promote artistic exchange and intercultural dialogue. Her work includes producing the Off-Broadway musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in China, directing the Sing for Peace concert series in Boston, coaching singers for The Voice of China overseas auditions, and collaborating with artists and cultural organisations on projects that connect audiences across cultures.

Alongside her artistic practice, Tian’s work is informed by her academic background in cultural economics and entrepreneurship. She holds a Master’s degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she explored sustainable models for the performing arts, audience development, and the role of cultural entrepreneurship in fostering international exchange. She is particularly interested in creating innovative approaches that strengthen connections between artists, cultural organisations and communities.
